2008 EVENT DETAILS

We invite you, your family members and friends to join us Saturday September 27th for a relaxing day in the beautiful Sierra Foothills for the 12th annual 2008 “Celebration of Automotive History” with over 300 classic examples of the finest automobiles and transportation spanning the last 100 years. Proceeds from the 2008 Ironstone Concours d’ Elegance will go to benefit youth education programs for the Future Farmers of America (FFA), 4H, and provide scholarships for Friends of the California State Fair.

The 12th annual Ironstone Concours d’Elegance will be held once again in the Ironstone Vineyards gardens Saturday September 27th 2008 from 10am-4:00pm. We are pleased to welcome KCRA Channel 3 as one of our new sponsors this year. KCRA TV News anchors Dave Walker and Lois Hart will be serving as the Master of Ceremonies for this years “Celebration of Automotive History”. 

The 2008 event will include on-site interactive activities for family members of all ages. Along with fine food, music, and special guests, the 2008 Ironstone Concours will include live demonstrations from the Future Farmers of America as they compete for awards on small engine troubleshooting and members of the 4H showing off their award winning animals and giving demonstrations of animal husbandry.

Friday evening September 26th we will be holding a wine reception and gourmet BBQ buffet dinner at the main amphitheatre. The pre-event dinner is a chance for car owners and automotive enthusiasts to mingle in a causal atmosphere, taste some of best wines from wineries throughout the Sierra Foothills, and enjoy a dinner under the stars. Tickets for the pre-event dinner and wine reception are $50 and will be available via the website. The wine reception starts at 5:30 pm and dinner starts at 7 pm.

On Saturday the gates open at 10 am and there will be demonstrations and announcement of activities throughout the day. Lunch is available on-site and we will be offering a buffet lunch as well as the much enjoyed Gala Luncheon, wine reception and live auction. The wine reception will begin at 12 pm with the Gala Luncheon starting at 12:30 and live auction starting at 1:15 pm in the entrance to the Ironstone Caverns. Tickets for the Gala Luncheon are $125 and can be reserved by calling the Calaveras Fair office at (209) 736-4237.

The 2008 event will close with the awards given out and the parade of winners across the Ironstone main stage starting at 3:00 pm Saturday. General admission remains free for all members of the family under 19 years of age when accompanied by a paying attendee and tickets are $20 and are available via this website or by calling the Calaveras Fair office at (209) 736-4237.
